  Add to cart & Buy It Now
Posted by: Xav - 03-10-2018, 03:48 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

I don't know if it is intended to work this way, but I found out about it due a customer moan :-)

On the product page of an item, suppose you choose amount 'X ' of the item ->

If you click the Add to Cart button, then the Buy It Now button, you get  'X' times 2 quantity in the checkout page.

  OCE 1.10.2 How to delete transaction/PayM
Posted by: Xav - 03-09-2018, 04:53 PM - Forum: Bug Reports - Replies (1)

I offered payment via CC/Sagepay and also PayM.  Never had anyone use PayM yet Rolleyes .  However how can I delete an order which has been accepted by OCE BUT was somehow allegedly done by PayM ( the customer is elderly and moans about things not being clear but has successfully ordered before).

1. She selected PayM.
2. I received a successful order notification from OCE.
3. No payment notification was received.
4. It was all a mistake/misunderstanding re PayM.
5. I just want to delete the transaction as otherwise my order totals/sales figure are wrong.

I have removed PayM as a payment method!!

  Extra Product Tabs
Posted by: Tango - 03-06-2018, 10:34 PM - Forum: New Feature Requests - No Replies

Another great core addition would be the Extra Product Tabs.
This extension, allows us to add an infinite amount of product tabs, like Documentation for digital downloads.

Let's say someone sells WordPress modules.
Besides the description, the person may want to add another custom tab where he can document the Changelog and other stuff.

  Header/Footer Notification
Posted by: Tango - 03-06-2018, 10:17 PM - Forum: New Feature Requests - Replies (2)

Sometimes stores get hit by some sort of calamity, like a hurricane/storm/snow around the shipping facility, so the delivery gets delayed.

This tiny mod helps with notifying the customers about these issues, thus preventing the flood of emails regarding the delays.

I think it would make a great addition to the core.

  Product filter by Category

Another feature that would further improve the Admin experience would be the Product filter by Category.
This is extremely useful if you have many products and categories, as it lets you see all the products in the selected category.

Information MySQL Storage Engines
Posted by: Tango - 03-05-2018, 11:01 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

Recently I've done a little research regarding improving the performance of OpenCart and I've stumbled upon some discussions about the database storage engines InnoDB and MyISAM.

Reading through all the posts, I've noticed that InnoDB is preferred as the default DB engine as it's faster and way more reliable (transactions support).

And taking into consideration that InnoDB is the default storage engine in MySQL 5.7, this says a lot about it's importance.

I know that OpenCart-Overclocked supports InnoDB, but only if you use the database conversion tool.
So in my opinion, InnoDB should be the default option for obvious reasons (also, adding indexes to all foreign keys).

Here are the discussions:
https://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php...40#p126198 (InnoDB supports full text indexing since MySQL 5.6)
https://github.com/opencart/opencart/pull/986 (people report good performance improvements)
https://github.com/lilalaunesau/opencart-turbo (it may have bugs and needs some more optimizations)

What do you think?

  Contents of abandoned carts
Posted by: Xav - 03-03-2018, 05:55 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to find what was in abandoned carts from the site logs or do I need other software?  I have Piwik/Matomo installed - could this be set up to do this and if so, how please?

I did have software that would do this on Opencart 1.5.x but it does not work  with OCE (unfortunately as I really liked it).

Many thanks.

  Banner Statistics
Posted by: Tango - 02-25-2018, 06:39 PM - Forum: New Feature Requests - Replies (2)

OpenCart Overclocked gives us the ability to have multiple banners which is great, but in order to better track banner campaigns, we need some banner statistics like here (demo/demo).
This would be an amazing option for larger stores that constantly have offers and campaigns/partnerships.

Question OpenBay Pro Poll
Posted by: villagedefrance - 02-19-2018, 12:45 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

Hi all,

I seriously need some feedback on this:

Should OpenBay Pro remain part of Overclocked Edition?

For those of you that don't already know, here is a couple of facts about OpenBay Pro:

- It is not Free;
- It is not PHP 7.1+ compatible *;
- It is big in size and has a lot of language files **;
- It has not been updated for v1.5.6.4 for a while;
- It doesn't seem to be commonly used. Any of you use it?;
- Support for Overclocked Edition is unlikely to be available.

*: I should be able to change that if it is to stay.
**: A lot of extra work for translations into other languages!

I personally would like to remove it from Overclocked Edition, for all the reasons mentioned above, but also because I would like to slowly move away from OC, focus more on essential cart features and make the code even leaner and faster.

So there it is, please tell us what you think.

  Thoughts about GDPR
Posted by: Tango - 02-18-2018, 08:28 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (9)

Recently we got ourselves another "fun" EU regulation called General Data Protection Regulation.

The more I read about it, the more I wonder how does it affect our stores...

What are your thoughts about this?
