New french law against VAT fraud
Posted by: gob33 - 01-11-2018, 02:36 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (6)

For short, starting 2018, a new french law oblige french merchants to use a software that meets the requirements of inalterability, security, preservation and archiving of data for control by the french tax administration.

This applies to e-commerce softwares.

All important records (orders, invoices) must be made inalterable, secured, journaled, archived.

The management software itself must be then certified NF525 by two organizations accredited to deliver a registered certificate.
The process is complex and expensive (~30.000 EUR)

From January 1, 2018 the company is liable of a fine of 7 500 € per management software, accounting or cash system concerned, in case of a control by the DGFIP (Direction générale des Finances publiques).
The company then has 60 days to comply, otherwise the fine can be applied again.

So basicaly, all open source e-commerce softwares are illegal in France starting 2018 as they cant be certified to the sense of the law.

NOTE: A recent page in english describing the new law for french merchants.

I recently added a SSL certificate to my site. I altered the 2 config files and activated SSL on the server tab.  Everything appears to be working until I try to access the login page when I get a blank page and too many redirects.  Presumably this part of the overclocked version would be the same as the original so searching for causes there will point me in the right direction?

Any thoughts please.

I'm running version 1.8.4 (upgrading once I've got niggles like this out of the way)

Thank you.

Hi all,
I would like to integrate a good shipping extension in the core.
By good I mean useful and flexible, preferably international and not localized.
If you know such an extension, please share.

  One Page Checkout question /mod
Posted by: davidb - 12-23-2017, 02:24 PM - Forum: Custom Templates - Replies (3)

I am trying to get the page to show the correct Shipping for the Country selected.  Currently if the user has already logged in then the page should reflect the Shipping for that country? but it always defaults to the UK and only changes after CONTINUE is clicked.  Also I would like to update the Shipping once a user has selected their country.

I am currently using 1.8.4 so has this been updated in newer versions?

If not does anybody know how to modify it so it works as above.

Thank you.

Information Coding Standards
Posted by: villagedefrance - 09-12-2017, 09:06 AM - Forum: Coding and Concepts - No Replies

One of the reasons OpenCart Overclocked Edition came about in the first place is because the official OpenCart code wasn't strict enough with their own Coding Standards.

I believe it is essential to respect coding rules in order to achieve maximum performance, compatibility and results at all times.

So, if you are a developer and you would like to do some work with OpenCart Overclocked Edition, please ensure that you are following the rules. This will play in your favor in the long run and will guarantee that your work is fully compatible with the rest of the code. Thank you!

You can find a copy of the Coding Standards HERE.

Smile New website design
Posted by: villagedefrance - 09-05-2017, 01:44 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (7)

Www://villagedefrance.net just had a makeover!

The goal was to freshen-up the general appearance to make it more attractive and contemporary. The horizontal menu and buttons are less rounded than before, the footer has been completely re-designed to match the top menu. Text colours have been enhanced to improve visibility and the FontAwesome library has been applied in the member's account pages. A lot of work has also been going on behind the scene to make the site more responsive and user friendly.

I hope you like it!

If I missed anything please feel free to comment below.

Version 1.10.2 is almost ready.

It features a new Attribute Description text editor in the Product form, using CKEditor instead of the very limited MarkItUp script. Please test it.

Of course if you find other bugs, please report them below as usual.

Thank you.
